Description

Based on James Clavell's novel. Set in feudal Japan in the year 1600, the series follows John Blackthorne, an English sailor shipwrecked on Japanese shores. He becomes embroiled in the complex political landscape as Lord Yoshii Toranaga fights for his life against powerful rivals on the Council of Regents. Blackthorne's fate becomes intertwined with Toranaga and the enigmatic translator Toda Mariko.
