His career began in Chicago, where he excelled in musical theater, toured with The Second City, and won a Joseph Jefferson Award for his portrayal of Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl. After moving to Los Angeles, he gained wide recognition playing the eccentric janitor Arwin Hawkhauser on Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He also produced, co-wrote, and starred in the silent slapstick series Brian O'Brien.
